Things to Do

La Gomera, not undeservedly, is frequently described as a walker’s paradise. The nature of the terrain has meant that over many centuries the islanders have constructed an intricate network of paths that link every corner of the island - from the fishing communities on its rugged coastline, through steep-sided valleys dotted with palm groves up into the ancient laurisilva forest. The paths can be extremely steep, at times overgrown and, in places, eroded or blocked by rockfalls so it it essential to bring suitable walking gear, especially footwear, sun protection and water flasks. The outstanding natural and cultural landscapes that you will discover are sure to make the effort worthwhile.
